Description

Rarity! Probably mid 19th century. France. Terracotta.

A sculpture that you may never see again! Antique sculpture in excellent condition without any interference!

A wonderful, cheerful, incredibly positive sculptural composition "On the Seashore", made functionally in the form of a pencil holder. The name is applied in the test under the paint layer on the front edge of the stand "Au bord de la mer" (French)

Antique terracotta sculptural composition of an unexpected chance meeting "Oh, what a horror!". This exclamation is applied under the paint layer on the glass for pencils in the central part of the composition in the test "Ah quel horreur" (French). The comic composition depicts an unexpected meeting of the Lady and the Senior on the seashore in beach suits.

The sculptural composition is distinguished by the smallest details in the modeling and painting of clothing details and facial expressions. The sculpture, expressive in its plot, is complemented by a colorful polychrome hand-painted painting.

Height 17 cm, width 15 cm

An excellent collector's item for such an old antique! Minor abrasions to the paintwork on the figure as a whole. No chips, cracks, restorations.

I'll pass it on in person.
